Irish Tattoos

      Irish tattoos are frequently requested partly because of the rich history and beauty of Irish symbols.  The much cherished symbols have many interpretations from ancient to modern day times.  Some of the most popular Irish tattoos include Irish cross tattoos, Irish knot tattoos and Irish shamrock tattoos.

The artwork of Celtic designs can be found in galleries of Celtic Art.  Irish knot designs are used in a number of different types of tattoos including armband tattoo designs.  An Irish tattoo of a Leprechaun can be seen as a symbol of luck or displayed as a fighting Irish tattoo.  The clover is another popular design symbolizing luck.  Yet another Irish design seen as a symbol of luck is of the Irish flower called the Bells of Ireland also referred to as the bells of freedom.

Wonderful designs of Celtic crosses are very impressive with Irish patterns intertwining knots or spirals.  Other interesting designs include that of the Irish sun and a very romatic symbol is that of the Irish heart.  The Claddagh is said to be a symbol of Irish affection, its design of a heart being held by a pair of hands with a crown overtop is said to represent love from the heart, friendship from the hands and loyolty from the crown.
