Peacock Tattoos

The peacock tattoo is a very colorful vibrant tattoo.  The male peacock has over two hundred feathers.  He is known to display his magnificent feathers and shake them during courtship as well as when marking his territory.  The only limit to the combination of colors for a peacock tattoo is your imagination.

The peacock is said to symbolize dignity, beauty and pride.  In Christian art is represents immortality and resurrection.  This interprettion comes from ancient beliefs that a peacdock's flesh never decays.  Due to the size of the peacock tattoo it is most suited for larger areas such as a back tattoo.

There are also striking tattoos that display only the feathers of the peacock with the characteristic iridescent eyes displayed within the feathers.  The peacock tattoo with all its detail and color has been used to cover unwanted tattoos or a poorly done tattoo.  The peacock feathers would be an impressive back drop to be used in combination with other tattoos.
