Lion Tattoos

Frequently referred to as the King of Beasts the popular lion tattoo design is a tattoo that is requested  in many parts of the world.  Many rulers and gods have used images of the lion as representtion of power.  Whether passive or aggressive the lion tattoo is often illustrated with only its head.

Some of the oldest images of this wonderful animal were in connection with the worship of gods.  Sculptures or carvings were commonly seen on palaces, tombs and in various temples.  The lion also plays a significant role in Chinese folklore.  The lion tattoo is a symbol which can be representative of courage, vitality, pride, nobility, cunning and power.
